Hi, my name is Scott Swinford, and I’m a mortgage loan officer. Almost everyday, I see or speak with someone who has less-than-perfect credit and doesn’t know where to turn. Fast forward 18 months when I was finally released by my doctor, but had no jobs to go back to. In fact, due to complications, I could not do much that required lifting with my arm. By then, the pay had run out and I had drained all my savings including my retirement just to put food on the table. We nearly lost our home and I was returning baby gifts just to buy formula. I was thankful that we had good friends who had baby clothes to give us, and at the same time very embarrassed by what I had to resort to doing.
It was the lowest point of my life and it was about to get worse. Because of our financial situation, my credit report was in the gutter and my credit scores were in the low 500’s. I could not have gotten a credit card or auto loan if my life depended on it. I wish I had known about credit repair and had access to a good credit repair service.
Even four years later, I was lucky to be able to purchase a house, even though all our bills were paid up to date and my wife and I were working full time.Yes, it’s true! We were caught up and working more than 40 hours a week, but because of my past problems, we were still paying for it.
Thank goodness the loan requirements were much looser, as we had to move because our son had taken over our small two bedroom home.

If I had known then what I know now, things would have been much different. We may have been able to avoid the constant headaches, feeling of dread, and near break-up of our marriage. I know we could have saved a lot of money, as we were paying far too much on credit cards, an auto loan, our mortgage, and even insurance.
